Abstract

This research discusses about process in Maher Zain’s song “Guide Me All The Way”. Zain’s music is influenced by his faith and has strong religious overtones. Maher Zain’s song invites people to encourage to the right way. We must really say thanks to Allah because give us mercy and blessing so we can enjoy in our life. The lyric from “Guide Me All The Way” has many mental experience, human will know believe in Allah as the God of mercy. This song teaching us to keep what we have and what before we have. To identify the dominant process, the researcher connect the experiential function structure to “Guide Me All The Way Song”. The objective of this research is to identify process in “Guide Me All The Way” song, finding the dominant process in guide me all the way song. Solving the problem, the researcher conduct descriptive and qualitative research, by using experiential function structure. The researcher did analysis, calculation, and perception for collecting de data. The data source of this research is Maher Zain’s song on “Guide Me All The Way”. Based on the resulted research, the process used in song “Guide Me All The way” are material process, mental process, relational process, and behavioral process, while the verbal and existential process was not used in this song. The mental process is dominant. It is supported from many clauses is containing about the feeling, thinking, and perceiving. The material process also dominant in this song is dominant, but more dominant is mental process.
