Abstract

This research was talking about “Students’ Reflexive Pronoun Mastery at Grade VII SMP N 1 Padangbolak Julu”. Most of students had problem mastery in reflexive pronoun, students did not have good mastery to mention the parts of reflexive pronoun, students were passive in the class, and students cannot differentiate singular and plural pronoun, students also did not bring the dictionary in English lesson. This research are purpose to know students reflexive pronoun mastery at grade VII SMP N 1 Padangbolak Julu, to know the difficulties faced by students and the efforts done by English teacher and to decrease the students’ reflexive mastery at grade VII SMP N 1 Padangbolak Julu. The method used in this research was qualitative research, by implementing the L. R. Gay and Peter Airasian states qualitative approach is based on the collection and analysis of nonnumeric data such as: observations, interviews, and other more discursive sources of information. Moreover, in this research, the researcher used one tests multiple choice. Moreover, the participants of this research were the class of VII 2 consisted of 24 students and also there was collaboration with an English teacher. Meanwhile, the data was derived among from reflexive pronoun tests, observation notes, and also interview. Based on the research result, showed the improvement mean score of the students. The students’ score into enough category (47.41%). But the students still have problem to master the pronoun especially in reflexive pronoun that to make different singular and plural form. Then, the students cannot mention the reflexive pronoun.
