Abstract

This research discusses about the effect of Quizizz Application on Vocabulary Mastery at the VII Grade Students of SMP N 1 Badiri Tapanuli Tengah. Most of students still have difficulty understanding English vocabulary, the purposes of this research is to know students vocabulary mastery before and after learning using Quizizz application and to examine whether the Quizizz application significantly effect in vocabulary mastery. This research used quantitative method with experimental design, pretest-posttest control group design. The population of this research was student at the VII grade of SMP N 1 Badiri Tapanuli Tengah that consisted 250 students. The sample taken by random sampling technique were class VII-2 (31 Students ) as experimental class and VII-1 (31 students) as a control class. The data were collected by giving the pre-test and post-test with the multiple choice as the instrument. In analyzing the data, this research used an independent t-test. The researcher found that the mean score of experimental class after learning using Quizizz application was higher than the mean score of control class. Moreover, after calculating the t-test, researcher found that tcount˃ttable. It means hypothesis alternatif was accepted. It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of Quizizz application on vocabulary mastery at the VII grade students of SMP N 1 Badiri Tapanuli Tengah.
