Abstract

The young generation in this era globalization frequently uses Indonesian-English code-mixing due to the influence of social media platforms such as YouTube. This research is intended to investigate code mixing in Shirin Al Athrus' 5 Vlogs Youtube October to December 2020 Indonesia. people whon can mastery two or more languages are known as "Billingual," they usually mix one language to another language in their utterances and the process know as code mixing. The goal of this research is to identify and analyze the code-mixing types that were based on Muysken theory in Shirin Al Athrus’ 5 Vlogs Youtube October to December 2020 Indonesia. This research used library research as a method of the research. Source of the data was 5 Video Blog (Vlog) of Shirin Al Athrus in her Youtube Chennel. Then the researcher chose Shirin’s Vlog because she usually frequently uses Indonesian- English code-mixing in her vlog. Instrument of the collectin data was by using transcription of the vlog, documentation correction sheets or document technique.The data collected from the video blog (vlog) that has been downloaded from Youtube. Researcher analyze the data by preparing, watching, transcript, coding and interpretating the data. The findings of research showed that there are three types of code mixing suggested by Muysken theory. Data analysis revealed that there were 160 data, of which 31 were classified as insertions, 58 as alternations, and 71 as congruent lexicalizations. So, the total were 160 times. It might be seen from this percentages, they used 19, 37% insertion, while alternation 32,25% and 44,37% congruent lexicalization. So, in the Vlog Of Shirin Al Athrus on her Youtube Channel the were dominantly used congruent lexicalization than insertion and alternation.
