Abstract

This research is motivated because the students still tend to be less active in the learning process and prefer to be silent than to ask about material that is poorly understood, and the learning process is boring, so it is necessary to make changes in teaching learning in the classroom using learning models that motivating more active students, including cooperative learning models of the Teams Games Tournament type and Jigsaw cooperative learning models. The purpose of this study was to find out whether there were differences in mathematics learning outcomes through cooperative learning models of the Teams Games Tournament type with the Jigsaw type learning model in the collection material for class VII students of Padangsidimpuan Middle School 9. This research is a comparative study using the experimental method. This research was conducted in Padangsidimpuan 9th Middle School with a sample of A VII-3 experimental class totaling 22 students and experimental class B VII-4, amounting to 22 students. The instrument of data collection used was an objective test in the form of multiple choices. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, homogeneity test and t-test The results showed that the results of tcount <ttable with each sample 22 and 22 were obtained with dk = (n1 + n2-2) = 42 with a level of 5% namely tcount = 0.384 <ttable = 1.684 which indicates Ha was rejected and H0 was accepted. So it can be concluded that there is no significant difference in mathematics learning outcomes using the cooperative learning model of the Teams Games Tournament type and the Jigsaw cooperative learning model in the set material in class VII of Padangsidimpuan 9th N Middle School.
