Abstract
In this research, the researcher analyzed English tenses in QS. AsySyarh. The objective of this research are: 1) To know what are English tenses in surah Asy-Syarh. 2) To know what is dominant English tenses in surah AsySyarh. This research hope this study can be useful to researcher. It will provide materials, it can be used by teacher to get tenses in surah Asy-Syarh. This research was conduct by using descriptive qualitative design. The data of this study are 8 verses of surah Asy-Syarh. The data collected by using document analysis. After the data have been analyzed English tenses in surah Asy-Syarh. The result shows that there are 2 tenses are found in surah Asy-Syarh. They are present perfect tense and simple present tense. Three verses are present perfect tense, they are verse of 1, 2 and 7. Two verses are simple present tense, they are verse of 3 and 4. So, the dominant English tenses in QS. Asy-Syarh is present perfect tense.
