Abstract
The problem in this research was students in SMP Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan especially in class VII cannot use English well, it can be seen from their speaking English, and they are unable to speak English due to their difficulties differentiated between of the writing and the pronunciation. This research concerned about pronunciation achievement by using Drill Method. It intended to know the description of the effect of Drill Method on Students’ Pronunciation Achievement at Grade VII SMP Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. In this research, writer used quantitative method in the type of the experiment research. The population of the research was 280 students of the grade VII. Then, the sample of research intended 42 students. Next, the pre-test and post-test about pronunciation achievement were given to the respondent. To analysis the data, the writer used the formulation of Ttest. After getting the data the writer found that score of T0 was bigger than Ts (3,29 > 2,68). It is meant that the hypothesis was accepted. It was concluded that there was a significant effect of drill method on students’ pronunciation achievement at grade VII SMP Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. Finally, the writer suggested using Drill Method was effective to improve the students’ pronunciation achievement.
