Abstract

Learning English as the activity that is done to prepare the students competence. That is why the learning English should be increased. The aims of research is to know the problems solving by the teacher in learning English at MTs Darul Istiqomah Huta Padang Pijor Koling Kec. Padangsidimpuan Tenggara. The researcher used qualitative method with instruments of collecting data are observation, interviews and questionnaires. The sources of data from students and teacher, possibly from the headmaster. The formulations of this research were (1) what are the problems in learning English at MTs Darul Istiqomah Huta Padang Kec. Padangsidimpuan Tenggara? (2) what are the problems solving done by teachers in learning English at MTs Darrul Istiqomah Huta Padang Kec. Padangsidimpuan Tenggara? While the purpose of this research are (1) to know the problems in learning English at MTs Darul Istiqomah Huta Padang Kec. Padangsidimpuan Tenggara, (2) to know the problems solving done by teachers in learning English at MTs Darul Istiqomah Huta Padang Kec. Padangsidimpuan Tenggara. From the research that was done stated the problems at MTs Darul Istiqomah Huta Padang Pijor Koling Kec. Padangsidimpuan Tenggara, are students’ learning that involves motivation and discipline, teacher that involve method of teaching and the lack of facilities such as book. The problem solving are : by increasing discipline, attendance sheet in learning, approaching to students, the using various method appropriately, give motivation for students and to complete facilities.
