Abstract

Background problem in this research is the assumption that most people assume that the results of students' mathematics learning of junior high school graduates are better than MTS former students, because students from MTS not only learn general subjects, but studied religion in depth. Moreover, if viewed from the hours of math, MTS studying mathematics for 4x40 minutes per week. While junior studying mathematics for 6x40 minutes per week. The purpose of this study was to compare the results of students' mathematics learning in junior high school graduates MAN Panyabungan, and the results of students' mathematics learning alumni of MTS in MAN Panyabungan, and to compare the results of students' mathematics learning among alumni of junior high school and in class X MAN MTS Panyabungan The research conducted is research using quantitative methods by using a comparative approach. The study population was the whole class X is in MAN Panyabungan consisting of 246 former students of MTS and 135 graduates from junior high school students. And to obtain optimal results the researchers took samples of all populations in the class X MAN Panyabungan. So to find out the result or correctness problems in this study, the authors used the data collection instruments in the form of tests. As for the management and mengalisis data is done with test formula "t". Based on calculations derived from the value of 0.14162 whereas t0 t1 = 1.966 and 2.588, the t0 t1 smaller than both the significant level of 5% and at significant level of 1%. Thus H0 rejected and Ha accepted because t0 is smaller than t1. Then the hypothesis in this study: no differences in students' mathematics learning among alumni of junior high school and in class X MAN MTS Panyabungan.
