Abstract
The problem of this research is many textbooks are used by the school and the textbooks that used different publisher but the textbook must fulfil the criteria that suggested by Book Center Ministry Of national Education and Curriculum. Many textbooks are used by the school and the textbooks that used different publisher. So, the researcher needs to analyze the textbook that can meet aspect of content, aspect of language used and aspect of presentation purposed by Book Center, Ministry of National Education and Curriculum. The aims of this research are to find out the aspect of contents, language used, and presentation of the reading materials in English textbook Forward for Vocational High School at Grade X based on the good criteria of reading materials purposed by Book Center, Ministry of National Education and Curriculum. The study used descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique used was document analysis and interview. The object of this research was an English textbook Forward for Vocational High School Grade X By Shyla K. Lande and Eka Mulya Astuti Published By Erlangga in 2014. The technique of data analysis divided into three they are: data reduction, data display and conclusion. The finding showed that the most of the reading materials presented in English textbook Forward For Vocational High School Grade X meet the criteria aspect of contents, aspect of the language use and aspect of presentation. there are five indicator that related to the reading materials, and only one of the indicator do not related. It means that the reading materials were good category based on the aspect of content. From aspect of language used, there are three indicators that compatible with the reading materials and only one indicator do not compatible. It means the reading materials in this textbook was good category based on the aspect of language used. It means the reading materials was good category
